Why Apple Should Not Delay The iPad 2 Successor

Apple’s iPad was a major hit when it was first launched because the iOS tablet was unique, it offered groundbreaking design and features. The Cupertino-based company still has the most popular tablet on the market, but competitors are slowly but surely improving their offerings both in terms of design and capabilities.

No current tablet has proven to be good enough to ”dethrone” the iPad, but Android fans hope the new Android 3.0 tablet will be able to do just that. Apple’s demise may be around the corner and here is why.

There is a plethora of competitors which are trying to convince customers to buy their products instead of Apple’s. And the tech giant simply cannot ward them all off. Android tablets are cheaper than Apple’s tablets. In a world still recovering from recession, the price tag is definitely one major purchasing decision factor.

Apple offers a huge number of app in its virtual stores, while Android’s offer is rather scarce. However, this is about to change because developers are arduously working on creating or customizing apps for Android tablets.

There is plenty of room for competition on the tablet market, and Apple could see its market share drop in the future if it does not act fast. The American tech giant has indeed an extremely loyal fan base, but they will get tired of waiting for their favorite company to finally launch the coveted iOS products.

If Apple hypothetically delays the release of the iPad 2’s successor (just like it is now doing with the iPhone 5), customers won’t accept to go through the same waiting again and will switch to Android.

All this competition between various tablet manufacturers creates better gadgets and lowers prices, therefore it is safe to say that the rivalry between iOS and Android has only one winner: tablet buyers.
