Twisted Christmas

As most of my friends, family and readers know, I love heavy metal music and since it’s holiday time and we’re really close to Christmas now, I wanted to share one of my favorite holiday metal CD’s with you:

Twisted Christmas by Twisted Sister:

Twisted Christmas by Twisted Sister

This CD has some of the best holiday classics known to man but with a little heavy metal twist thanks to one of my favorite metal bands.

So what holiday classics are on the CD you might be asking yourself?

Here’s the play list:

  1. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
  2. Oh Come All Ye Faithful
  3. White Christmas
  4. I’ll Be Home For Christmas
  5. Silver Bells
  6. I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus
  7. Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow
  8. Deck The Halls
  9. The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire)
  10. Heavy Metal Christmas (The Twelve Days Of Christmas)

The CD was released October 17, 2006 so you shouldn’t have a hard time finding it.

My favorite song on the CD is “Heavy Metal Christmas” which is a rocking version of the Twelve Days of Christmas:

On my heavy metal Christmas my true love gave to me,

12 Silver crosses, 11 Black mascaras, 10 Pairs of platforms, 9 Tattered t-shirts, 8 Pentagrams, 7 Leather jackets, 6 Cans of hairspray, 5 Skull earrings!

4 Quarts of Jack, 3 Studded belts, 2 Pairs of spandex pants, and a tattoo of Ozzy!

There are a ton of other metal bands who have done Christmas covers but I can’t recall the names right now… I can think of the groups who did the songs but can’t remember if they did a compilation CD or not, so if you know of any other heavy metal band Christmas covers, please comment and help me remember them :)

Times like this I wish that I was still working at the metal radio station because we had them all within easy reach. Oh well, hopefully my valuable readers can help a metal head like myself remember.

When I first read your post title, I immediately thought of Bob Rivers’ Twisted Christmas, who have released Christmas classics such as “Osama Got Run Over by a Reindeer”, “I am Santa Claus” (a cover of Black Sabbath’s Iron Man), and “Walkin’ ‘Round in Women’s Underwear”.

    Hi Brandon.

Indeed the Bob Rivers stuff is really good.

I love the “I am Santa Claus” song.

If you can think of others, let me know.

I’m hoping you’ve seen the vid for Ye Faithful?

Hey Devin… of course I’ve seen the video.

It’s a shame Twisted Sister won’t be releasing anymore music but after a 30 year career in metal, I think it’s ok for them to take a break but I sure do miss 1980’s and early 1990’s metal.

I saw Twisted Sister a few times live “back in the day”. Very good live and one hell of a stage show.

lol… I can’t believe you like Twisted Sister, Sean… I was never much into them or Kiss… their vocal ability, imho, leaves a lot to be desired plus the makeup thing… yuck!

Now if I was to pick just one metal band that I really like it would have to be Metallica… James Hetfield can sing!

Hey Karen. I never said Twisted Sister were masters of vocal per portions but a lot of their songs have really good hooks and get people jumping and shaking which is always good.

The make up is a little too much for some people but it’s about being an entertainer and providing some visual excitement for the people watching the show. Kiss was great for this… they always gave you one hell of a stage show along with some good music.

Metallica is one of my favorite bands but I have to say, after the black album they started to go into a direction I wasn’t pleased with… and James is a good singer… I like him a lot.

yes, if I close my eyes and just listen to the music, I suppose Twisted Sister is alright. I just can’t stand looking at them…lol…

    Hey fellow metal head.
Just saw their live video of Oh Come All Ye Faithful. Pretty hilarious.

Metallica is okay. I’m more of an old school fan (anything before the Black album I can tolerate.) I prefer Slayer over them any day.

    Hey Nate.

The live Jay Leno video is good but you need to check out the actual music video for it… you can find it on YouTube or Google video.

    Hey SeanRox -

Your right, the actual music video is much better.

    I knew you’d like it :)

For those too afraid and view it (Hi Karen), I’ll fill you in… it’s a play on the original “We’re not gonna take it” video and a must see for sure.

Probably Twisted Sister is not the best band ever; but I laugh out loud listening to their music and watching them in live shows. A few bands can do that.

I saw their shows when they came to Spain in 2005 and 2006. I enjoyed a lot. The make-up is a fundamental part of the shows.
