This is the latest offering from Toshiba, it is the Protégé PT321C-0KH012 a 13.3 inch Intel powered laptop, that is definitely in the ultra book territory and yet there are some things here that do not add up. this concerns the storage Toshiba say that it has a 128 GB HDD, whereas surely that should be 128 GB SSD in which case this laptop is in fact an ultra book! It will be interesting to see if Toshiba have made a mistake here otherwise $1,600 for a laptop with a 128 GB hard drive is a little steep wouldn’t you say?
The Protégé PT321C-0KH012 has a neat 13.3 inch screen made up by an LED Back lit Display with a Native Screen Resolution of 1366 x 768 and there is a built in web camera too. It is going to be powered by the latest version of the Intel Core i7-2640M dual core processor with a 2.80 GHz clock speed and 4 MB cache. Graphics will be provided through the Intel HD Graphics 3000 card. There is a reasonable 4 GB of DDR3 SDRAM 1333 MHz; a 128 GB hard disk drive (HDD) for storage and a there is the DVD-RAM/R/RW Optical Drive for disk storage.
Networking is provided through the Ethernet Port 10/100/1000, Integrated Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and the Integrated Bluetooth 3.0. While connectivity will provide one fast USB 3.0 Port, two standard USB 2.0 Ports one with shared eSATA Port, a VGA Output and HDMI Output. It measures up at 31.6 cm (W) x 22.7 cm (D) x 2.66 cm (H) and weighs in at 1.45 kilos with the nine cell Lithium-Ion battery installed that Toshiba claims will provide the user with up To fourteen Hours of powers.
Toshiba has priced the Protégé PT321C-0KH012 at a shade just under $1,600 to start with.
