Toshiba launches the Dynabook Satellite T652
Here is a another new laptop from the high end manufacturer Toshiba, it’s the Dynabook Satellite T652 that offers a medium size 15.6 inch display, Intel processors and Nvidia graphics cards. It could be said that this machine is being aimed at the gamer market, but it falls a little short of that markets high demand for performance. Instead, it would seem that the new Dynabook Satellite T652 is ideally suited to those users who want a laptop for both work and entertainment purposes. This is because it will deliver features to suit that particular market sector.
The Dynabook Satellite T652 comes with a 15.6 inch wide LCD (16:9) HD TFT colour Clear SuperView display with LED power saving backlight, there is 1366 x 768 of pixel resolution and there is a built in 1.0 mega pixel web camera, which is ideal for online conversations etc.
It will be powered by the high end third generation Intel Core i7-3610QM processor with a 2.30 GHz clock speed, but can go up to 3.30 GHz with support from the Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0, there is also the Mobile Intel HM76 Express chipset and video is provided by the NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M graphics card.
Internal memory starts at 4 GB but go up to 16 GB of SDRAM PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600) dual channel and there is ample storage in the 750 GB (5,400 rpm, Serial ATA support) hard disk drive (HDD). Getting online could not be simpler with the built in LAN 100 Base-TX/10 Base-T and the essential IEEE 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi support.
Other features include a headphone output 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack), four super fast USB 3.0 ports, microphone 3.5mm and the essential HDMI out for connecting the laptop to larger screen for watching movies through the Blu-ray drive supported by the Harman-Kardon speakers.
When it comes to size, the laptop measures 27.7 mm to 31.4 mm (H) × 252.5 mm (D) and 385 mm (W). As for weight it is a hefty 2.7 kilos but that is with the Lithium-Ion battery pack installed, that Toshiba claim should be good for up to 4.4 hours of power, although they do not mention what sort of uses delivers this amount battery life.
The Dynabook Satellite T652 is currently being sold in Japan with a starting of around $1,700!
