Top computer maker Toshiba, have produced a new Dynabook it is an Ultrabook uses Intel’s Sandy Bridge processors and it will be called the R631! The great thing about this machine is that using the energy efficient processor, not only offers good levels of power but also provides a long battery life. Currently the R631 is destined for the Japanese market later on in the month, whether it will end up in US and European markets is anyone’s guess.
The Dynabook R631 comes with a neat 13.3 inch (16:9 aspect ratio) non-reflective high definition LED back lit LCD display with a 1366 × 768 of pixel resolution and a built in 1.3 mega pixel HD web camera.
It is powered by the Sandy Bridge 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5-2467M dual core with up to 2.3 GHz allowing for turbo boost and the Graphics come from the Intel HD Graphics 3000 card.
The RAM in this machine is 4 GB PC3-10600 at 1333 MHz of DDR3 memory (2x2GB) and there is the storage is a 128 GB solid state drive (SSD) saving on space and weight. For additional storage and data sharing there is the SD, SDHC, SDXC card reader.
When it comes to networking Toshiba have really gone for it with a WiMAX 4G module (IEEE 802.16e-2005), Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b/g/n) with Intel Wireless Display and there is also Bluetooth 3.0 in there too.
They have covered all of the port requirements with a superfast USB 3.0, the standard USB 2.0 and the popular HDMI port too. This laptop has a battery life of up to nine hours according to the manufacturer running Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit (SP1) operating system and it will weigh in at highly portable 1.12 kg
We will have to wait for when the new Dynabook Ultrabook is launched in Japan to know the starting price.
