The new Asus 15 inch Zenbook Touch U500VZ

A new laptop has been spotted on the Asus US website, it’s for the yet to be announced Zenbook Touch U500VZ, which is a fifteen inch version of the already available UX31A, which has a neat thirteen inch display. The Zenbook Touch U500VZ has been designed to work with the latest Windows 8 operating system by providing the user with a capacitive display, Intel Core i7 processors, Nvidia Graphics and a full choice of storage solutions. That is enough excitement for now, let’s just get down to see exactly what the Zenbook Touch U500VZ has on offer; such as the 15 inch screen with 16:9 HD LED Backlight anti-glare offering either EWV with 1366 x 768 or IPS FHD with 1920 x 1080.

It is going to be running the latest Microsoft Windows 8 operating system and will be powered by the Intel Core i7 3632QM or 3612QM Processor. There is support for the Intel Chief River Chipset HM77 and the video graphics are going to be coming from the NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M graphics card with 2 GB GDDR5 VRAM. There is an on board memory of 4 GB DIMM and a big choice from 500 GB RPM HDD With a 24 GB SSD, 500 GB RPM HDD With a 128 GB SSD, 128 GB RPM SSD RAID0 Technology and finally there is the 256 GB RPM SSD RAID0 Technology.

As for networking there is the Integrated 802.11 a/g/n wireless LAN and the built in Bluetooth V4.0. Other features include the built in HD Web Camera, three super fast connecting USB 3.0 port, RJ45 LAN Jack for LAN insert, HDMI & Mini VGA display ports and a handy SD card reader. This laptop measures up at 380 mm (W) x 254.5 mm (H) x 6 mm to 19.7 mm (H) and weighs in at a manageable 2.06 kilos with the 8 Cell 4750 mAh 70 Whrs Polymer Battery pack installed.

It is a bit early for any prices or availability of the Zenbook Touch U500VZ, but Asus should have more news at the CES 2013 in Las Vegas.
