The Best Envision LCD TV On The Market

Usually, we’d give you some kind of wishy washy disclaimer and say “This TV might not be perfect for everyone, but…”, this time, though, we can say, without fear of getting it wrong, that the best Envision LCD TV out there today is the Envision L42W761 LCD TV of the Omni Series.

Okay, yeah, we admit it, this TV isn’t perfect for everyone. It might be too big to put in your bedroom, or too small to put in the den, but as a living room TV, for general purpose use, it’s pretty close to perfect. Here’s why we like it.

A 16:9 widescreen aspect ration, resolution of 1366×768, a 42 inch screen, a contrast ratio of 1200:1. What all this adds up to is a crystal clear picture whether you’re watching TV, DVDs or playing the Xbox. The color quality is rich, and the resolution is solid as a rock.

It comes with built-in speakers, of course, and a headphone output, as well as a digital S/PDIF interface compatible with surround sound.

It comes with two video and two HDMI inputs, and delivers some pretty solid, distortion free image and sound. It’s also got multiple picture, and you can access digital video cameras, your blu-ray player, and your PC through the TV, all at the same time.

Here’s the part that may surprise you: This TV is more than a year old.

So in other words, it’s about as capable as any TV that’s new to the market today, but it costs significantly less. Tell your friends it came out just yesterday, they won’t know the difference, because there really isn’t a discernable difference between this TV and something a bit newer.

With an eight millisecond response time, no ghosting, and a 176 degree viewing angle, it’s really no surprise that this TV seems to invariably get four to five star ratings from most users, and generally positive comments from all but the very slim minority of buyers.

The only complaint we’ve found in any user reviews has been one unfortunate user who had the product break in just three weeks. But you know, every product that’s ever been manufactured has had a few flukes on the assembly line , and besides, it’s not like the TV doesn’t come with a warranty, y’know! All in all, the overwhelming majority of users are more than happy with this TV, so it’s no surprise that it’s still going strong in sales even a year later.
