Super Bowl XLI: Colts Win 29 To 17

On Thursday February 1, 2007 I predicted that the Indianapolis Colts would beat the Chicago Bears by a score of 38 to 27 and the game just ended moments ago with the Colts wining 29 to 17… so my prediction was really close.

The play that sticks in my head the most was at the beginning of the game by Devin Hester with his 92 yard kick return giving the first touch down to the Chicago Bears. If I recall, it was a Super Bowl record. I’ll need to follow up on that for sure.

It was a great game. I haven’t watched football in a long time, so it was a nice break from my daily grind.

I bet my friend Doug is just jumping for joy right about now that his home team won the Super Bowl… hehe… congratulations Doug and to the Indianapolis Colts.

The kick return was a record. It was the first ever opening kick-off return, as well as the 8th ever kick-off return in superbowl history. However, there has never been a punt return for a touch down in a superbowl.

    Just a lil’ fyi.

I thought after that kick return the Bears would win but alas… they made some really dumb mistakes later on. :(

it was a good game, though, for sure.

    Hey Karen.

I also thought after that first play that the Bears would just smash all over the Colts, but alas, the Colts wanted it more and kept pounding on them moving forward yard by yard.

The half time show was pretty good too. Sucks that it rained so much… which made it perfect for the song Purple Rain to be played.

I did wonder if if Prince would get shocked while playing guitar in the Purple Rain… but he survived :)
