Some would say LucasArts’ The Force Unleashed revolutionized “Star Wars” gaming, which has really evolved into a genre all its own. It boasted immersive gameplay, great graphics and compelling storyline — following Darth Vader’s “secret apprentice” and shaping his fate with significant consequences for the entire Galaxy Far, Far Away as we know it.
Of course it goes without saying that a sequel is on the way, and diehard fans can get some nifty bonuses if they sign up for the collectors package.
In addition to a collectible SteelBook packaging, buyers of the limited-edition set, at least in the UK, will get an exclusive MIMOBOT designer 2GB USB Flash Drive that comes preloaded with a digital art book featuring insights into the art of the game, a script by Haden Blackman and themed wallpapers.
Beyond the tangible realm, the limited collector’s edition includes exclusive in-game content such as three exclusive challenge mode levels, an exclusive Ralph McQuarrie concept “Deak Starkiller” skin that evokes designs for what would eventually become Tatooine farm boy Luke Skywalker, and an exclusive lightsaber crystal.
Below you can see images from LucasArts, including the MIMOBOT drive and the McQuarrie concept character skin. May the Force be with you! (Or, at least it will be when The Force Unleashed II launches in late October 2010!
