UK punk pioneers the Sex Pistols reunited in the studio recently to record tracks for Guitar Hero III, including their hit “Anarchy In The UK,” Activision said today.
Activision had originally attempted to procure the master tapes for the 1977 songs, but could not locate them.
The band reunited with the album’s original producer to re-record tracks off the band’s single studio album using the original analog studio equipment.
“A bit of anarchy in a video game is alright by me,” said a rather press release-friendly Johnny Rotten.
Guitar Hero III will be available October 28, 2007 on PS2, PS3, 360, and Wii.

Hot damn. Now that’s the kind of news I like to hear right before my birthday. I’ll definitely be looking forward to this Christmas video game season now.

Nah, that’s too slow, too unlikely to get results. I’ve got a friend at Activision; I’ll just use him to order the game through the company store.
