It seems like business travelers are being spoilt for choice these days as yet another super slim, super light notebook arrives on the scene to battle it out in this increasingly competitive market. And on first appearances, it looks like we could have a serious new contender for all those business execs to fall in love with.

Enter into the ring the Samsung X460: one of the lightest, thinnest, and most stylish notebooks to have appeared on the scene so far.

It seems that the evolution process is getting a bit confused these days, because although this marks the next stage in the process from the Samsung X360, which only had a 13-inch screen, it actually comes in on an even cheaper price tag. The reason for this is that the X460 does not have a solid state drive option, dropping the price to $1,700.

The main specs include:

•    Weighs 4.2 pounds
•    14.1-inch screen
•    2.26-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 processor
•    3GB RAM
•    320GM hard drive
•    NVIDIA GeForce 9200M graphics (256MB)
•    Fingerprint reader

At its thickest, it’s only 1.25 inches, making it highly portable and easy to transfer between meetings. It is also a lot more attractive than other similar models on the market, coming with a red brushed aluminum panel and a magnesium alloy frame for solidity.

The ultra-bright LED-backlit display may well require the use of sunglasses it is so bright, and the Nvidia GeForce 9200M makes for incredibly smooth video playback and the possibility of light gaming.

The X460 isn’t really missing any major features that could be a real problem. It does not have the option of integrated mobile broadband, and it’s true that it lacks a Blu-Ray drive option and Firewire, but these can be forgiven due to the simple joy of using and carrying this, the latest in the line of superb performance mini notebooks from Samsung.
