Samsung launches the NP305E5A-A08US laptop

Consumers who are in the market for a new 15.6 inch laptop will have another model to look at with the launch of the NP305E5A-A08US from Samsung. This laptop should be considered as an entry level machine, but just because of that label, it does not necessarily mean that it is down on specs and features. The NP305E5A-A08US is good value AMD powered 15.6 inch laptop with a starting price of around $400, what’s not to like with this machine?

Time to take a closer look at what is underneath that silver coloured body of the NP305E5A-A08US, it has as mentioned earlier a 15.6 inch screen with anti-glare, LED back light display offering a 1366 x 768 of pixel resolutions and there is a built in 0.3 mega pixel web camera with microphone. It is going to running the Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium operating system, while it is powered by the AMD A6-3420M “Llano” quad-core processor with a 1.5 GHz default, but can go up to 2.4 GHz in Turbo mode with a 4 MB cache and with graphics coming from the AMD Radeon HD 6520G integrated graphics card.

There is a 4 GB of DDR3 at 1,333MHz, which is expandable up to 8 GB if required, while storage offers a 500 GB 5,400 rpm hard disk drive (HDD). For networking there is the normal 802.11n Wi-Fi LAN, Ethernet LAN and there is a Bluetooth 3.0 connection available. While other features include the three standard style USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI out, VGA port, a handy 4 in to 1 multi card reader for SD, SDHC, SDXC & MMC and there is a set of Stereo speakers (1.5W x 2) too.

This laptop measures up at just 1.14 inches to 1.37 inches (H) x 14.4 inches (W) x 9.5 inches (D) and it will weigh in at just 5.07 pounds with the 6 cell lithium-ion 48 Wh 4400 mAh battery pack installed that Samsung say will offer up to 5.1 hours of power. Samsung have competitively priced the NP305E5A-A08US to start from just $400.
