Korean based Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, currently the second largest mobile phone maker in the world, have just announced at the CTIA Wireless event in the US, the global launch of their Samsung Galaxy S SmartPhone and it’s one cool phone.
The Samsung Galaxy S SmartPhone, S stands for SmartLife by the way, will make users lives “more convenient, more exciting, and more integrated” claim Samsung.
“The Android-powered Galaxy S will set a new standard for smart phones,” said JK Shin, president and head of Mobile Communications Business.
“The Galaxy S is the perfect device for people in all corners of the world who want that extra edge; to be more effective, productive, better connected, and in tune with their smart life – both personal and professional – all in a very easy and simple way.”
The new SmartPhone will run with Google’s Android OS and will come with a powerful 1 gigahertz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
It will also feature Super AMOLED capacitive display technology on its 4 inch touchscreen display with mobile Digital Natural Image engine technology.
Samsung currently use this technology in their popular LCD and LED TVs so we can expect sharper, crystal clear viewing with the Galaxy S.
This of course will make the phone ideal for watching videos and that’s exactly what Samsung have in mind, it’s the ultimate multimedia phone.
Samsung plan to offer users the opportunity to download full length movies and TV shows as well as eBooks to their SmartPhones.
Content will come from Viacom Inc’s Paramount Pictures and eBook publishing company Skiff said Samsung at a CTIA press conference.
The phone also features a ‘Social Hub’ which will make it quick and easy to connect to social networking sites for instant communication anytime, anywhere.
“Living a “Smart Life” requires intelligence” the mobile phone company said. Make no mistake folks this is certainly one phone that could well give the iPhone a shake up and put the wind up Apple.
.
Other features on the Galaxy S include ‘Daily Briefing’ for instant access to weather, news, and stocks; ‘All Share’ inter-device connectivity via Digital Living Network Alliance technology; ThinkFree for viewing and editing Microsoft Office 2007 docs and much more.
