Samsung is at the top of its game as the world’s biggest smartphone vendor. The Korean manufacturer has a number of Android powered smartphones on the market, but that’s not all that it makes. Samsung also manufactures a rather unique device, which is neither a smartphone nor a conventional tablet. Its called the Samsung Galaxy Note and its commonly referred to as the “phablet”.
Samsung has sold upwards of 10 million units of this unconventional device and there is confirmation of a new model launching later this month. Apparently earlier today an allegedly leaked Samsung Galaxy Note II image was posted online, so lets jump in and take a look.
The Samsung Galaxy Note II is going to be more unconventional than its predecessor. Rumors suggest that various design elements of this device will be similar to those of Samsung’s insanely popular Android flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S III. The image above clearly shows a device, believed to be Galaxy Note II, having a stark resemblance to the Galaxy S III. Apart from that, the device has its distinctive design elements such as the unorthodox form factor.
While there has been no word regarding technical specifications of Galaxy Note II, earlier leaks suggest that the device will have a thin bezel as well as a larger display. The previous Note had a 5.3 inch display whereas the upcoming Note II is expected to have a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED HD plus display. No pricing or availability information is available as of now.
It should be kept in mind though that everything we think we know about Galaxy Note II actually comes from rumors provided by a plethora of sources, reliable and unreliable alike. The alleged Note II image above may have been rendered by someone on the basis of these rumors. Samsung has not yet said a word about this upcoming device.
The release is expected at Samsung’s IFA event later this month, the company has not specifically said that it would be announcing Galaxy Note II, but it has said that a new device will be unveiled. Its been almost over a year since the previous Note was announced, which makes the timing right for a new Galaxy Note. Furthermore the increasing amount of information leaks regarding this device hint at the obvious, that in the last week of August Samsung will be announcing a brand new, revamped and featured packed Galaxy Note II phablet.
