Samsung App Store Reached 100 Million Downloads
Ten months ago, Samsung released its own App Store that is dedicated especially to Bada devices. These days, the company has just reached a notable outcome, highlighting more than 100 million Samsung app downloads. This great success began with Samsung Wave and today, users are able to enjoy more than 13,000 available applications.
The reports show that the Europeans are the most numerous Bada’s consumers as about 40% of users, who downloaded Samsung applications from the App Store, live in Spain, Germany or France. But even though Samsung registered a great success, it cannot rest because its competitors are ready to take its place. For this reason, the Samsung App Store continuously provides new applications for feature phones that have their own OS and developments.
At the beginning, Samsung set up the App Store in order to offer users software applications, such as Twitter and Facebook. Three months later after the Samsung App Store was opened, the platform registered 10 million downloads. The management of the company considers that the App Store will also register a great increase in 2011 especially that its specialists are going to launch new Bada devices.
Currently, the Samsung apps can be downloaded from the App Store in 120 countries, providing more than 65,000 iPad and 350,000 iPhone applications. In addition, the iPod addicts are also able to find different applications for their devices. It is a great fact that Samsung App Store reached this incredible number of users. However, it is not guaranteed that it will register the same success in the future.
For the moment, Samsung celebrates the milestone of 100 million downloads by providing weekly prizes to the users who download applications from Samsung marketplace. This offer is available between 25th of March and 30th of April 2011. Prizes offer vouchers that can be used in Samsung App Store, USB sticks, Galaxy Players and Samsung Galaxy Tabs.
