The Powerful Sagar NP9285 Laptop – Meet the Beast

sagar The Powerful Sagar NP9285 Laptop Meet the BeastThe Sagar NP9285 might be one of the most powerful laptops in the world, but it is also one of the biggest.  In stark contrast to the legions of small, thin laptops currently on the market, the Sagar NP9285 is unashamedly large, heavy, and powerful.

Sagar specialise in releasing customised gaming laptops and mobile workstations, for people who need all the power of a desktop in a mobile environment.  The NP9285 features a fast quad core Intel i7 processor, the lightning fast graphics of Nvidia GTX480M 2GB, and a large 17 inch WUXGA display.  All of this power does come at a cost however, with a weight of 12 pounds and a rather hefty price tag to match.

As far as looks go, the NP9285 is burly, big, rigid, big, and – did I mention it is rather big.  This is certainly not a laptop you are going to want to carry around on your back all day long.  Luckily however, the shear power and performance do make up for its very significant presence.

The NP9285 comes with a 17 inch screen at a resolution of 1920 x 1200, good horizontal viewing angles, and strong vibrant colours.  However, even on a notebook of this size and quality, laptop manufacturers still seem unable to provide users with a good quality audio experience.  The full size keyboard is good, and the touchpad is textured and excellent overall.

While the shear girth of the NP9285 was never going to make it popular as a mobile solution, the lackluster battery life certainly guarantees it.  While a 12-cell battery is included, even this is only able to provide about one hour of battery life.  This beast seems to eat power for breakfast, and will need to spend most of its life plugged in to the mains.

While this computer is obviously not for everyone, some power users are going to find it ideal.  It is the only laptop on the market that is based on a desktop platform, so its monstrous size should really be no surprise.  The NP9285 is the ultimate in performance laptops, with a quad core processor, triple channel RAM, ultra-fast graphics, and more options than you can poke a stick at.  It is also very expensive starting out at $2150, and did I mention it is also very, very big.
