Origin launches the cool EON17-SLX
When Origin PC brings out a new laptop, it is not something that can be ignored, because this firm is one of those manufacturers who just throw away the rule book on design and value. This latest offering is the EON17-SLX and it offers a huge 17.3 inch screen, powered by over clocked Intel Core processors and a choice of either Nvidia GeForce or AMD Radeon HD graphic cards too! This is a gamers dream come true, sure it is slightly on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for!
As there are so many options available on the EON17-SLX we have to start off with the basic model, this comes with a 17.3 inch screen with a FHD LED Backlit Glossy Display a 1920 x 1080 of pixel resolutions and a built in 2.0 mega pixel web camera. It is running on genuine MS Windows 7 home premium 64-Bit edition operating system, powered by the Intel Core i5 3320M Dual Core Processor with 2.60 GHz and 3MB Cache, with graphics coming from the AMD Radeon HD 7970M graphics card with a single 2 GB of GDDR5.
The internal memory starts from 4 GB of DDR3 1333 MHz (2 X 2GB) and the storage comes in two parts the 320 GB SATA hard disk drive (HDD) with 3.0 Gb/s, 7200 RPM, 16MB Cache and the 60 GB Corsair Force GT solid state drive (SSD). Other features are the Wi-Fi Link 802.11 A/B/G/N Wireless LAN Module with Bluetooth, Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-950Q USB HDTV Tuner with Remote, fast connecting USB 3.0 Ports and an integrated Biometric fingerprint reader.
This laptop measures in at 16.5 inches (W) x 11.3 inches (D) x 1 inch to 2 inches (H) and weighs in at very heavy 8.6 pounds with the 8 cell smart lithium-ion 89.21 WH battery pack installed that according to Origin offers up to 2.5 hours of power, but probably not while gaming! The Origin EON17-SLX base model as described above will come with a starting price of just a shade under $1,900, but if the buyer were to choose all of the high end options, the final price tag would be over $7,000!
