Who is Ron Dias you ask? He’s one of today’s outstanding animation artists (and a personal friend of mine), who over the past 45 years, has contributed to almost every animation studio (Walt Disney Productions, Columbia Pictures, 20th Century Fox, Warner Brothers Pictures and MGM Pictures) in Los Angeles. His work has appeared on television, in commercials, feature films and educational films.
He just finished a project for Disney titled “The Royal Waltz” which was created in celebration of the Walt Disney animated classic Sleeping Beauty and I had the honor of being the photographer to take pictures of the progression of this piece from start to finish at Ron’s personal art studio.
On February 14, 2004 at the Fantasia Shop, Disneyland Hotel located in Anaheim California, the piece will be let out into the wild. There will be a “meet and greet” with Ron Dias from 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm.
Once the piece is released, I can post my pictures of Ron and I during the creation of this piece… but do to Disney “politics” I can’t do it before February 14, 2004.
