New iPhone Pre-orders Begin From September 12 Followed By September 21 Launch In US

August is almost half over and the excitement surrounding release of Apple’s next generation smartphone is escalating on a daily basis. There have been countless rumors from countless sources about the features, specifications, dimensions as well as the release dates. We can never be too sure until the official invitations from Apple are received. The company usually sends out invites a week before an event is to take place.

Though some new inside information has been revealed which confirms previous rumors that the next generation iPhone will be announced on September 12 whereas shipments for the US will begin from September 21.

Last year Apple announced the iPhone 4S in October. At first it was expected that the announcement of next generation iPhone will also take place in October this year. It has been reported that Apple is pushing back the announcement this year so as to create adequate buzz among the consumers which would lead to stronger sales over the holiday season. It should be noted that one of Apple’s fiercest competitors, Samsung, has already released its next generation iPhone competitor whereas HTC is also said to be releasing something of the same sort. Competition is going to be tough for Apple’s newest creation.

Two individual sources, claimed to have provided accurate information in the past, report inside information that Apple is going to hold an event for new iPhone announcement on September 12. Pre-orders for this smartphone will also begin that very same day. US customers will begin receiving pre-ordered devices from September 21. Apple will once again be going for a phased release around the world, with major countries expected to receive the smartphone in October’s first week.

The next generation iPhone is rumored to have a thinner profile, one that we have never seen before on any iPhone. Apart from that, the smartphone is also expected to have a smaller 8 pin dock connector as well as a repositioned headset jack. Furthermore, there has been much talk about a larger display of around 4 inches. The device is expected to boast a quadcore processor coupled with at least 1GB of RAM. A 12 megapixel camera has also been rumored.

No information on pricing has been revealed as yet. Though it is expected that Apple will retain previous price points, as there have been no rumors about a price increase. If the information from these sources turns out to be true, we shall very well be witnessing the launch of a brand new iPhone on September 12. Count me in as one of the people who just can’t wait!.
