New iPad Mini Mockup Leaves Little To The Imagination

In less than twenty four hours, Tim Cook will take the stage at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in order to announce the company’s next generation iPhone. However that is not all being expected to come from this event. Rumor is that the company will also announce a new iPad Mini, which would begin shipping sometime in October. Earlier today pictures of a new iPad Mini mockup emerged and the leave little to the imagination with regards to what the device will look and feel like when, and if, it is officially announced on September 12.

This is not all Apple is expected to announce tomorrow at the event. Rumor has it that alongside the iPad Mini and iPhone 5 Apple will also be announcing a new line of iPod models. Up till now there has been no credible evidence supporting these rumors apart from parts and component leaks.

Apple gave us a subtle hint in the media invite which confirmed that tomorrow it is indeed announcing a new iPhone. New iPods notwithstanding, the first iPad Mini will definitely be a big product for Apple and I would be surprised if they actually merge both of the announcements together. We can only hope that one of these products doesn’t overshadow the other.

It obviously goes without saying that the iPad Mini mockup here might not turn out to be the real deal. However based on the information we have received from countless sources, I believe this is the most accurate mockup we have seen of the iPad Mini up to date. The Apple iPad Mini is said to be a 7.85 inch tablet with a thin profile and possibly a dual-core processor. There’s been talk of dual cameras as well as of a smaller dock connector.

At this point in time all we have are just rumors. Lucky for us though, the event begins in just under one day. The iPad Mini has long been expected but we have yet to see any indication about the existence of the device itself from Apple. I for one am skeptic that the announcement will take place alongside the next generation iPhone. It is my belief that Apple will hold another event in either October or November in which not only will it announce the iPad Mini, but will also announce the updated iPod line up as well. I’m pretty sure that is what will happen, if not then we find out tomorrow any way.
