New Amazon Kindle Fire Tablet To Feature Front Facing Camera
Apple may have dominated the tablet market with the iPad ever since the first one came out in 2012, but there’s no denying the fact that Amazon has carved out a rather unique niche for itself. The mid-range tablet market boom was started by Amazon when it released Kindle Fire tablet last year. This 7 inch tablet, priced at just $199, has done wonders in the market. Now a new updated model is expected to be released soon. The new Kindle Fire just might have a front facing camera as well, this being confirmed by purported leaked pictures of the upcoming device.
There is no doubt in the fact that release of a new and improved Kindle Fire tablet is just around the corner. The current model is now out of stock on Amazon’s website. This is a clear indication of the aforementioned fact. Many companies released their own 7 inch tablets after gauging the success Amazon received with its offering. It is widely believed that one of the reasons why Apple is going to release an iPad Mini is to steal mid-range tablet market share from Amazon. The Kindle Fire has done so well that it happens to be the most sold Android tablet in the world. The irony is that this tablet runs Amazon’s heavily modified version of Android.
Images of what is believed to be the next Kindle Fire have been leaked in the past as well, but they have failed to reveal substantial information about this device. The images that were received today by The Verge are similar in that aspect, however they clearly show the presence of a front facing camera. Apart from that, the new Kindle Fire seems to share the same design as well as dimensions with its predecessor. Details regarding hardware specifications are vague at the moment.
The purpose of adding a front facing camera on the Kindle Fire is rather obvious: video conferencing. This feature is undoubtedly one that consumers want to have on their device. There’s seems to be no logical reason for Amazon not to include a front facing camera in its new Kindle Fire tablet. Finer details about this camera are not available right now, but are possible to be leaked weeks before the release. Apart from that, judging by this image, the new Kindle Fire won’t have much to offer in terms of design as it looks almost similar to the original Kindle Fire tablet. There exists a possibility of Amazon announcing 7 inch as well as 10 inch models, but that we’ll only know for sure when Amazon makes the official announcement in a couple of months, or if we’re lucky, weeks.
