MSI launches the GE60 laptop
The GE60 laptop is the latest model from MSI aimed at the gamers market. It has a 15.6 inch display, powered by Intel processors and the graphics coming from the Nvidia GeForce graphics cards. The buyer gets to choose the processor, hard drive as well as other features, which will of course affect the final price, which starts at around $1,300.
The GE60 has a mid sized 15.6 inch screen with full HD LED back light, Anti-glare with a 1920 x 1080 of pixel resolutions and there is the built in HD (30fps@720p) web camera available. It is powered by the third Generation Intel Core with a choice from the i7 or i5 version of the processor supporting the Intel HM76 chipset and with graphics coming from the nVIDIA Geforce GT650M 3D 2 GB GDDR5 Graphic Card.
Internal memory is the normal DDR3 1333 1600 MHz, 2 slots up to maximum of 16 GB. The buyer gets to choose from either a 500 GB or the 750 GB SATA 7200/5400 rpm hard disk drive (HDD) for storage purposes. There networking features includes the 802.11 b/g/ n Wireless LAN, 10/100/1000 LAN and there is the Bluetooth v4.0.
Other features include the two standard USB 2.0 ports, two super fast connecting USB 3.0 ports, the handy HDMI out, Audio Boost, 4 (2W x 4) HD Speakers and the THX True Studio Pro. Finally, it measures 383 mm (W) x 249.5 mm (D) x 37.6 mm to 32.3 mm (H) and weighs in at 2.4 kilos with the six cell battery in place.
MSI have priced this laptop at $1,300, but you have think that the final price is going to end up slightly higher than this figure, especially as this is being aimed at the gamers market and we know how they love to beef up the specs to the maximum.
