The popular computer maker MSI, are about to unleash the S30 laptop onto the market, there is a familiar look to this laptop with its white slim body and thirteen inch display. However, the low price will make consumers do a double take look at this laptop just to make sure that it is an Apple that has been priced up wrongly. The similarities between an Apple and the MSI end with the looks, because the S30 comes with a 13.3 inch liquid crystal panel in HD with LED backlight and a 1366 X 768 of pixel resolutions.
This laptop will be running on the latest Microsoft Windows 8 operating system and is powered by the 3rd Generation Intel Core i3-3217U processors with 1.8 GHz. There is support for the Intel HM76 express chipset, while video graphics come through the Intel HD Graphics card. The S30 has 4 GB of DDR3 1600 MHz, a 500 GB 5400 rpm mSATA hard disk drive (HDD) and there is even room for a 64 GB solid state drive (SSD) too. Getting online couldn’t be easier with the Gigabit Ethernet LAN, Bluetooth v4.0 and the 802.11 b / g / n Wireless LAN.
While the other features available include a built in HD web camera, a single standard style USB 2.0 port, a super fast connecting USB 3.0 port and the always useful multi card reader (SD / SDHC / SDXC / MMC). As the size, the laptop measures up at 324 mm (W) x 227 mm (D) x 22.8 mm (H) and weighs in at manageable 1.4 kilos with the 4 Cell battery pack installed that MSI say should be good for up to 5.73 hours of power. MSI have managed to come up with a really competitive $780 starting price for the S30 laptop, the question will be is there a market these for a laptop offering these kind of specs and features? Time will tell, but the answer at the moment has to be yes, there is.
