My buddy Jim came by yesterday to pick up my dead monitor.
We took it to his shop to replace the fly back on it which is about a 10 minute fix. Not to bad.
In the process of going through the circuit board looking for anything else that needs some work while we have it out of the cabinet, we found 7 bad caps. Yikes!
Moral of the story? The circuit board is being sent to a TV repair shop because they can fix everything and warranty it… all for $60.00 including shipping. Not such a bad deal.
At this point my project Pac-Man currently doesn’t have a monitor but we are burning in a replacement at his shop. Keep your fingers crossed.
If it holds up for a straight 48 hours of running without any cracks, pops or black smoke coming out of it, my Pac-Man project will be up and running for the weekend.
