ATEN Technology is a provider of KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) and remote connectivity products. But if you have never heard of them before, you soon will because they have just launched a new and innovative product that is sure to be a great help to a large number of people: the Laptop USB KVM Switch.

An impressive name, and an impressive product. This cable-like device may not look like anything special from the outside, but its genius is in its simplicity, for it is designed to provide the user with direct control over two computers at the same time, as well as allowing efficient file transfer.

It is being billed as the ideal tool for notebook users, who frequently need to connect to two computers at the same time and transfer files between them. All you have to do is plug it in and away you go: it could not be simpler

The main features of the device are:

-    Quick and easy file transfer between two computers.
-    Efficient plug-and-play functionality.
-    Access to USB 2.0 peripherals.

What’s more, the device can even adjust the resolution of the remote desktop window so that it is the same as the local monitor.

The director of sales at ATEN Technology, John G. Owen, said that the device is all about introducing their power to “small office and home office workers who typically require access to both a personal and business PC”.

The file transfer capabilities of the device mean that it can be used for many different uses, from salespeople on the move to IT administrators, at the same time as preventing the need for a network and the expenses that are involved in setting one up.

The Laptop USB KVM Switch simply needs to be plugged in, and you can then set about transferring large files seamlessly between two computers, bypassing the need for extra software installation. A great yet simple idea that is going to make a lot of lives easier.
