Gecad Technologies SA is now offering Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync on Gecad’s AXIGEN mail servers following a patent licence agreement with Microsoft to implement the leading technology.
As from today, the product kits for AXIGEN Mail Server version 7 featuring Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync is available for download directly from the AXIGEN website.
“This agreement enhances the ability for AXIGEN e-mail servers to directly synchronize with various mobile devices, including those using Windows Mobile, that utilize Exchange ActiveSync,” explained Oana Bornaz, chief executive officer of Gecad Technologies. “During tough economic times this agreement makes good business sense, as it will allow AXIGEN to further differentiate itself from its competitors in the business messaging solutions marketplace, in a cost-effective manner.”
Gecad Technologies is just the latest company to offer Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and have joined the likes of Apple, Google, Nokia, Palm, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Symbian and Xandros who are just a selection of the companies who have entered into Exchange ActiveSync licensing agreements with Microsoft in the past few years.

And Microsoft has been helping companies overcome those challenges through our Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync licensing program.”
Microsoft have been licensing Exchange ActiveSync for mobile devices for the past six years but like a growing number of other companies, Gecad Technologies are implementing it on servers and are not licensing it for mobile phones and other devices.
