Meet the New MSI X-Slim X350

msi 300x222 Meet the New MSI X Slim X350MSI have just released the X-Slim X350, a new-generation 13.4 inch laptop with a dual core processor and a rather stylish design.  While the X350 is an updated version on the X340 model released last year, the X350 is faster, more responsive, and features a different style than its predecessor.

The X-Slim X350 is aimed at mobile computer users who are looking for a slim and design conscious laptop, and with a thickness ranging from 0.3 to 0.8 inches at its thickest point it certainly succeeds in this regard.  A strong battery life is provided by an eight-cell battery, which does beef up the weight a little at 3.8 pounds.

The design team at MSI seem to be particularly pro-active, and have come up with a sophisticated honeycomb design complete with shades of black and a rubber type texture.  While it may not look like every other laptop under the sun, it is refined enough to make you feel at home in a variety of work and social environments.

The X350 features a 1.3 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 processor, and while it performs well it is nothing to write home about.  It has a large isolated style keyboard that is responsive and large enough for everyday typing needs, and a 3.5 x 2 inch multitouch touchpad that also performs well.  Despite its minuscule vertical dimensions, MSI have somehow managed to fit in lots of different ports, although only 2 USB’s may not be enough for some users.

The MSI X-Slim X350 is a great looking and well built laptop that performs fairly well during most tasks.  It’s performance is certainly not exceptional however, and the asking price is rather high at $999.
