What makes the LG-X120 Netbook so special right from the word go is the 3G HSPA connection and the powerful 160GB hard drive combined with the very easy to use Smart-On interface that loads up the interface screen in under 5 seconds. I like it.
Getting connected is easy and the Smart-On interface means that with a single click of the mouse you can access the MP3 player, the Photo Viewer or Internet Suite or indeed any of the frequently used applications without even having to wait for the operating system to completely load up. Now that’s pretty cool.
It’s also easy to connect to any other computer or device to access or share files or install new applications using LG’s Smart Link Technology and a USB cable. The LG-X120 also has an advanced security function which means you can safely share files whilst connected to other devices without having to worry about compromising any sensitive information.
This one does appear to have it all. It’s not just a powerful little Netbook; it also has it in the looks department too.
The soft white matt exterior resists grubby fingerprints and scratches and the splash of colour in lime or pink round the outer trim acts as an extra eye catcher. No you won’t mind being seen out and about with this one, you would fit in anywhere with anyone.
It’s also pretty compact measuring 33mm x 264 mm by 178 mm and has really neat curvy edges that give it a rather stylish appearance and which make it easy to carry around with you. Even in the weight department it comes out nicely at just over 1.2 kg.
Ok we have to find something to complain about. With the 3 cell battery you get a measly 3.5 hours work and play but you can extend this to a respectable 7 hours with the 6 cell battery so nothing too serious there.
It has a 10.1 inch WSVGA Screen with a 1024 x 576 resolution. You also get Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition and an Intel Atom N270 1.6 GHz processor with 1GB DDR2 RAM, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
The LG-X120 also comes with a 1.3 megapixel webcam complete with You-Cam software and the SRS WOW HD and TruSurround XT gives stereo effect sound to complete the whole package.
There’s only one major problem really. We still don’t know exactly when you can get your hands on one or how much it will cost you.
