Lenovo releases the IdeaPad Yoga 13

It has been a while since Lenovo announced the IdeaPad Yoga 13, but now it is on its way and it has to be said it is looking good too. This convertible laptop and tablet device has been designed to offer the buyer a good all round laptop and tablet experience, with Microsoft’s Windows 8 operating system at the centre of the operation. This thirteen inch machine is fully loaded and comes with a whole range of features, options and upgrades, so that means the initial price of around $1,600 is merely the starting price and from there it can only increase, which makes this machine rather expensive when compared with machines currently available on the market.

So, we know that this is expensive, but let us just see what that money is going to buy. It comes with a 13.3 inch screen offering HD + LCD with LED back light, multi-touch (10 points) and a 1600 × 900 of pixel resolutions. The touchscreen feature has been designed for the latest Windows 8 (64 bit) operating system and it is going to be powered by the third generation Intel Core processors either the i7-3517U processor or the i5-3317U processor with clock speeds ranging from 1.7 GHz to 3.0 GHz with the Turbo Boost feature. There is support from the Mobile Intel  QS77 Express Chipset and the graphics will be coming from the Intel HD Graphics 4000 with built-in CPU up to a 1.7 GB maximum.

The internal memory starts from 4 GB up to 8 GB of DDR3 1600 MHz memory and for storage there is the light 128 GB solid state drive (SSD). Networking and communications consists of the 802.11 b / g / n wireless LAN and the handy Bluetooth v4.0. Other features include a single standard style USB 2.0 port, a single super fast connecting USB 3.0 port, HDMI port, built in HD 720p web camera and the handy 2 in 1 media card reader. The Yoga 13 measures up at 333.4 mm (W) x 224.8 mm (D) x 16.9 mm (H) and weighs in at about 3.5 kilos with the 4-cell Li-Polymer battery system installed that Lenovo say will be good for up to 7.4 hours power.
