If you are going to name a new laptop, you are going to want to have something with impact rather than just a few letters and numbers, it seems that Kouziro have taken this on board and come up with the name Frontier for its latest model the 15.6 inch FRNP515 / D. This is an interesting machine with a starting price at just $600, although that is in the Japan market, if this laptop ever turned up on the shelves of a retail outlet outside of Japan the price would probably be a lot different. However, the Frontier FRNP515 / D has some interesting features, such as an Intel i5 processor supporting the HM75 chipset, so what’s not to like?
The decision of the buyer often relays on brand, features and price, we have already covered the two of these, so it must be time to check out what the Kouziro Frontier FRNP515 / D actually does have on offer. This model comes with the 15.6 Inch wide LCD display with LED backlight and a 1366 x 768 of pixel resolutions. It is powered by the Third generation of the Intel Core i5-3210M processor with a 2.50 GHz 3MB (2 cores / 4 threads) supporting the Mobile Intel HM75 Express chipset and with graphics from the Intel HD Graphics 4000 card.
There is 4 GB (upgradable to 4 GB x 2) of PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333) and storage options start with the 500 GB hard disk drive (HDD) SATA / HDD. It has three standard USB 2.0 ports one comes with the USB charging function 4-pin power off and there is an HDMI out for connecting to a larger HD screen. Networking comes from the 1000BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, 10BASE-T support LAN and of course, it supports IEEE 802.11 b / g / n Wi-Fi. This laptop measures 380 mm (W) x 27.1 mm to 34.0 mm (H) x 262 mm (D) and weighs in a hefty 2.6 kilos, but that is with the 10.8V 4400 mAh 47 Wh battery pack installed that Kouziro claim should last for up to six hours.
The Kouziro Frontier FRNP515 / D is currently available in Japan with a starting of around $600.
