One Japanese company has come up with an ingenious gadget which will solve the problem of waste office paper forever.
The technology dubbed “White Goat” eliminates the need for companies to deal with the hassle of shredding, storing and then disposing of their waste paper as it simply turns it all into loo roll.
All you have to do is feed it sheets of paper in through one slot (it takes about forty A4 sheets to make one roll) where it will be shredded, mixed with water and turned into a pulp, and only half an hour later white goat will deposit a loo roll out of the other slot. Brilliant!
Only the Japanese could think of that eh, I don’t think anyone would disagree that they are the ultimate gadget and gizmo geeks and have embraced technology in a way that no other country has done so far.
Seriously though, a purpose built loo roll making machine to deal with company waste makes a lot of sense in many ways but particularly where security is concerned and we all know how much of an issue that is these days.
A lot of companies outsource their waste disposal and all it takes is one sensitive document to go astray and they’re in trouble.
With White Goat documents are disposed of and recycled on the spot so need never even leave the premises, oh except when flushed down the loo of course. Yep I reckon that’s pretty safe.
It also works out cheaper than most if not all other toilet papers on the market at only 10 or 11 cents per roll.
The thing is will it actually take off?
James Holland from the Electricpig gadget site said “I love the idea, and eco warriors will go barmy for it too. I guess you’ll need to be wary of any stray staples though.”
He needn’t worry because according to Oriental, the company behind the device, any stray staples or clips will be removed from the paper by White Goat during the loo roll making process. Hey that’s a relief!
Others are commenting on the price as businesses would have to fork out an initial $100,000 for the monster gadget and as it stands at around 6 feet tall and weighs in at around 600 kilos you really need a lot of space too which means it’s only going to suit large office blocks generating a lot of paper.
Still, for any energy and/or security conscious company it really could be a worthwhile investment.

Just as soon as this hits “reasonable for home office” price range, I’m getting one! Awesome idea.
