I have this laptop for almost a month and this is a good laptop, i just put an extra 1gb of ram and it run smoothly with all the aplications that i put on it, the OS is good, i might upgrade to a 64bit operating system in the future because i will add more ram and i migth put a larger hard drive.
Original dv4 battery should supply longer battery life.I bought a battery,lasting 4-5 hours life, from http://laptopsbattery.us/hp-pavilion-dv4-battery.htm
