How To Create Your Own Home Solar Power

sunpower main How To Create Your Own Home Solar Power

First of all, don’t be intimidated by the idea of switching over to solar power. You don’t need to go drop twenty grand on a full system to power your home. If you’re handy with a screwdriver, you can actually build a generator for yourself for a few hundred dollars in parts, and a solar panel can cost well under a thousand dollars, so you could conceivably create enough electricity to power a room or two in your home for about the price of a single house payment. That may not be the same as switching off of traditional energy forever, but hey, it’s a start.

Once you’ve decided that yes, it’s time to make the switch, the next thing you want to do is take a walk around your property and try to map out the best locations for solar panels. The most obvious option is the roof, of course. This is probably where you’ll get the most sun exposure, but if your home is shaded by a beautiful tree that you can’t bear to chop down, you can look in some other spots, just make sure that, wherever you put the panel or panels, the sun will be hitting that spot all day long. Obviously, if you stick it on the west side of your house, you’ll get the setting sun, but not the rising sun, and so on. Somewhere out of the way where the sun won’t pass behind a tree or the home or anything.

You definitely do not want to plug a solar power panel directly into your wiring, of course! You need a generator to process the electricity correctly. You can build one, but you’ll need a more in-depth guide for that. When you do have a generator, we have to recommend having an experienced electrician doing the wiring for you. If you know exactly what you’re doing, it’s possible to do it yourself, but we certainly don’t want to condone any weekend-wirer doing something that might=2 0get himself electrocuted.

The cool thing is that, if you switch over entirely to solar power, you might just get a check from the city government for the energy you’re putting back into the grid. A full system may cost you as much as $20,000, but think about it, in ten years of not paying electricity bills, and your solar system will have paid for itself. Any longer, and with the government checks, you’ll be getting free energy and making money at the same time, with no costs but maybe a maintenance fee now and then.

    Hi

I have had a look at your webside and I like what you are selling (informaiton) but there is one problem there is no point me purchasing your informaiton if I cant purchase solar cell.

I live in Australia and aparanetly they only sell solar cells in USA. and no one seems to know from whom (company) I can purchase the sollar cells to make my own solar panels.

I would like to purchase your information you are selling on our site but they are going to be waste of money if I cant get my hands on some sollar cells. Maybe you might help me and direct me a company or a site where I can purchase sollar cells.

I would greatly appreciate your help.

    Thank you

    Wes
