OMG! SO simple. I jsut ran in to my kitchen, fixed up the 1:1 Vinegar & H20 solution. My monitor hasn't been this clean since I took it out of the box. Then I used the leftover to clean my eye glasses, the kitchen windows, etc. Many thanks!

Maureen Blank, you are DUMB! its nobodies fault but your own..you know what u should have done? PUT LESS SOAP IN YOUR WASHING MACHINE. Or did you get Makoda to do your laundry for you? if so, then you can put the blame on them but otherwise it is totally 100% YOUR fault. you are a disgrace, and if you think that way then you really shouldnt own anything that is worth anything. That way, you cant blame anyone else for your own ignorance!

You wrote:
How To Clean Laptop Screen With Household Products

Cloth -- Only use a 100%-cotton cloth that is soft and absorbent, either an old T-shirt, sock, or Turkish towel.

You didn't warn me about the possibility of my 100% cotton T-shirt having detergent residue on it! I used it and it scratched my screen! You owe me a new laptop screen!
You should be more specific! I trusted you! You shouldn't be doling out advertised advice as a professional unless you are 100% certain that what you are telling us to do is truly totally safe. Which in this case obviously was not.

That's a bit too complex though. Probably correct however. In many cases 70% isopropyl contains lanolin, so it's best to either remember to check closely AND remember that ratio...or just go with 91% and keep it blood simple.

Mathematically, 3:2 mix of 70% isopropyl alcohol to distilled water should be about the same as a 1:1 mix of 91% isopropyl and distilled water. Should work, as long as the 70% strength rubbing alcohol doesn't also contain something weird, like fragrance or aloe or something. Right? (My math is a little rusty.)

Out of curiosity, does anyone know why screen cleaning products were cheap and abundant in the office supply catalogs not too long ago and then those disappeared to be replaced by more expensive small volume sprays?

I had thought that they discovered something detrimental to either the health of the user or the screen.

(having read back through the comments, it looks as if the makers of the cleaners did not want to be at odds with the manufacturer recommendations. I guess if the cleaner product says "Safe for all screen types..." or whatever, they open themselves up to problems if it can be shown in any fashion to not be safe. Along those lines though, it seems that the new products still have a solvent component in them and not just water/vinegar mix)
