This was helpful. Thanks for the reminder. At times we forget to backup our laptops yet a lot of damaged can happen to the laptop which results to lose of files.I recommend the third party backup programe where you schedule and forget.Currently i use an online backup system for all my backups and the one i use is called safecopy backup. Here what i do is pay for 200GB of space at 50bucks a year and everything is done automatically and if i delete any file by mistake,i can recover them back by just a few clicks. This has kept my files secure because my laptop can crash or be stolen any time but when my files are backed up,i can acess them any time and any where i want.

I highly recommend a third party backup program that you can schedule and forget. Retrospect is good, as it offers a lot of functionality that you normally can't get unless you pay the megabucks for enterprise level stuff. Acronis TrueImage is also good.

I personally prefer Retrospect because of encryption capabilities. You want AES encryption, just incase someone steals the external drive. Then, they can't use the stolen equipment as a launchpaid for ID theft.

Yes i too agree with you, it is very necessary to back up your laptop as we use it very regularly and many of our important data is stored in that. I read the whole post and its very informative and gives detailed info on how to backup your laptop.
Nice work again....keep writing.
