Google Nexus Tablet Images And Specifications Allegedly Leaked
It is going to be five years this November since the Android mobile platform was first launched. It has been reported that Google might release five new Nexus devices on 5th November just to celebrate the five years of Android. While we still wait for the details of those five devices, a sixth device is also being expected. The Nexus tablet has been speculated about quite a bit and some alleged images of this sixth Nexus device have leaked online.
Android tablets haven’t had as much success in that market as their manufacturers would have hoped. The Apple iPad is the undisputed champion of the tablet industry. The only device that gives Android a respectable tablet market share is Amazon Kindle Fire, which ironically runs a heavily modified version of Google’s mobile platform. So obviously there’s a need for an Android tablet that can stack up against the iPad.
On the other hand, Android smartphones are doing really well in the market. Millions of new devices are activated each day and last quarter, Samsung sold more Android powered smartphones than Apple sold iPhones. The Nexus line of Android smartphones is the result of collaborating between Google and manufacturers such as HTC and Samsung. Needless to say, these smartphones have done very well too. It looks like Google wants to expand the Nexus line and cover tablets as well. Whether the rumoured Nexus tablet proves to be any good, remains to be seen.
The leaked images of the purported Google Nexus tablet are supposed to be press drafts. According to these images, the 7-inch tablet is manufactured by Google in collaboration with ASUS. It is said to be powered by a Tegra 3 quad-core processor couple with 1GB of RAM. Android 4.1 Ice Cream Sandwich will be the operating system on the Nexus tablet. This device is expected to be priced under $250. The tablet will support Android 5.0 Jelly Bean when it comes out later this year.
Of course right not all this information is just another rumour. As far as the images are concerned, well you don’t need a genius to doctor up some images. Though let me tell you this, there is significant chatter in the supply chain regarding Google Nexus tablet. The internet search giant is sincerely working on it. On the other hand there is equal, if not more, speculation about the 7-inch iPad Mini. Apple is said to be preparing this tablet to capture the mid-ranged market which is currently dominated by Kindle Fire. Sit back and relax fellows, the tablet wars have just begun.
