Choosing London to launch a new laptop is nothing new, but Gigabyte have gone further than any other laptop maker to launch their latest desktop replacement laptop the P2542G, they chose the old war rooms used by Winston Churchill in London. So this new laptop already has a lot to live up to and the first thing that anyone will know about the P2542G is that is comes in bright yellow! It comes with a 15.6 inch screen, powered by third generation Intel i7 processors, a choice of Intel or Nvidia graphic as well a storage solutions too.
Considering that the configurations that are available, this is a laptop that could be of interest to a wide range of users from home, office as well as gamers, so the P2542G has a lot going for it and with a starting price of around $2,000 it is in the zone too. The new P2542G from Gigabyte has a 15.6 inch screen with full HD LED back light a 1920 X 1080 of pixel resolutions and there is a built in 1.3 mega pixel web camera too. It will be running on the Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium operating system, powered by the 3rd Generation Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor with a clock speed of 2.3 GHz to 3.3 GHz.
There is support for the Mobile Intel HM77 Express Chipset and a choice of graphics from the Intel HD Graphics 4000 or the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M with GDDR5 2GB and supporting the NVIDIA Optimus Technology. Another choice to make is with the memory from 2 GB, 4 GB and 8 GB of DDRIII 1600, 2 slots up to a maximum of 16 GB. The same goes for storage, there is the 128 GB or 256 GB mSATA Solid State Drive (m-SSD) and then there is the 750GB 2.5″ 9.5mm SATA hard disk drive (HDD) with 7200 rpm to choose from.
Connectivity is via the two fast connecting USB 3.0 ports, the single standard eSATA/USB 2.0 Combo port, HDMI out, D-sub, RJ45 and a handy 4-in-1 Card Reader (SD/MMC/MS/MS Pro). Networking uses the normal 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet Base-T LAN, Bluetooth V4.0 and the 802.11 b/g/n Wireless LAN. When it comes to size this laptop measures up at 392 mm (W) x 263mm (D) x 32.1 mm to 38.3 mm (H) and it weighs in at 2.6 kg with the Li-ion 6-cell, 5400mAh battery pack installed.
