Gigabyte launches the P2742G gaming laptop

There is no doubt what sector of the marker Gigabyte are aiming for with the new P2742G, but let’s say gamers will be interested in seeing what this cool and rather large laptop has to offer the buyer. As with most gaming laptops the P2742G has a 17.3 inch screen, uses the Intel Core i7 processor and has graphics that will make you feel like you are right there in the middle of all the action. Just by looking at this laptop, you can tell it is going to be high end and therefore it will be coming with a price to match, but we do not know the price yet, what we do know is that there are going to be plenty of options available and that means even more figures added to the final price.

So let’s just see what this laptop has to offer the gamer, it comes with a 17.3 inch screen with full HD LED backlight and it has a 1920 x 1080 of pixel resolutions. It is running on the Microsoft Windows 8 or 8 Pro operating system and powered by the 3rd Generation Intel Core i7-3630QM Processor with 2.4 GHz up to 3.4 GHz. There is support for the Mobile Intel HM77 Express Chipset and graphics come from the Intel HD Graphics 4000 or the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M GDDR5 2 GB graphic cards. There is 4 GB to 8 GB of DDRIII 1600 with 3 slots up to a max of 24 GB, while there is a choice of 500 GB, 640 GB, 750 GB or 1 TB of 2.5″ 9.5mm hard disk drive (HDD) 5400/7200rpm and 128 GB or 256 GB of 2.5″ 9.5mm solid state drive (SSD) for storage purposes.

For networking there is the 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet LAN, Bluetooth V4.0 and the 802.11 b/g/n wireless LAN. Other features include the two fast connecting USB 3.0 ports, a single eSATA/USB 3.0 Combo port, a single standard style USB 2.0 port, HDMI & D-Sub display ports, RJ45 and built in 2.0 mega pixel web camera. This machine measures up at 413 mm (W) x 277.5 mm (D) x 17.5 mm to 48.8 mm (H) and weighs in at 3.2 kilos with the Li-ion 8-cell, 5200mAh, 76.96Wh battery pack installed, although we do not know how much power this will offer the buyer.

Gigabyte have not released any details on availability or prices for the P2742G yet, but it is not going to be cheap.
