Fancy a Burka for your Laptop?

Laptop burka Fancy a Burka for your Laptop? OK — it’s a bit of a bizarre concept and we have no way of knowing if it’s absolutely genuine or not, so if you fancy one for yourself don’t go getting your hopes up or your wallet out just yet.

A current posting on Craigslist, the free online classified advertising site, advertises a Laptop Burka for sale. Why would you want one of these? Read on and see.

“Travel freely with your Laptop with out the hassle of glare from the sun or unwanted light. Don’t bother with those anti glare filters that do not work”

No, I agree there’s nothing worse than screen glare when trying to work outside, so, yes a Laptop Burka might come in handy. The post goes on.

“Stop those pesky peekers who can’t seem to mind their own business while you’re working on your screen.”

It’s true though, it’s really irritating when someone is peering at your screen when you’d really rather they didn’t. But what else?

“It really works for those serious about using their laptop outside with no glare!”

OK, we’ve covered that already.

“Enjoy using your Laptop while on the airplane, airport, working, the beach, the poolside, on the deck or patio at home, watching a movie!”

The guy who posted this has really thought this all out. Every setting you might possibly imagine a Laptop Burka might come in handy, he’s got it covered. Build the dream. But what about size, weight, colour?

“Laptop Burka fits on any hat. Lightweight and easy to travel with. All Laptop Burka’s can come in any colour.”

Phew! I don’t have to take my cap off while using the Burka. And I can pick any colour I want? Maybe I’ll buy one for every day of the week and go for the entire colour spectrum.

But, you might ask, is it cool to be seen in one?

“Trend setters say Laptop Burka is the newest hot ticket on the market today! Own yours today.”

Personally, when I’m working on my laptop I prefer to sit out the way in some quiet corner. In one of these, I’d just be asking to draw attention to myself.

It does seem rather clever in some ways, but I still, somehow, can’t quite see it taking off.
