Eurocom launches the P370EM Scorpius laptop
We have seen in the past that the Canadian based computer firm, Eurocom are good at coming up with cool laptop designs, with enough options and upgrades to please even the most demanding gamer. Well it seems that legacy continues with the launch of the P370EM Scorpius laptop. The Scorpius is a big machine with a 17.3 inch display and customers options in processors, graphics cards, internal memory and storage. This is a machine that will clearly please gamers as they can pick and choose from the long list of options in order to build the perfect gaming laptop.
The problem with a laptop such as this is where to start, there is so much on offer. Therefore, we should go with the basics, the P370EM Scorpius laptop has a 17.3 inch screen with FHD Matte or Glossy Surface LCD LED Display a 1920 x 1080 of pixel resolutions and a built in 2.0 mega pixel web camera. It is powered by a wide range choice of processor up to the Intel Mobile i7 Core 3920XM Extreme and supporting the Intel HM77 Chipset. For those all important graphics there are two MXM 3.0b slots available and a choice of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M with 4 GB DDR5 675M, the QUADRO K3000M or the AMD Radeon HD 7970M graphics cards.
There is up to 32 GB of DDR3-1333/1600/1866 available through 4 RAM sockets and storage consists of two 1 TB hard disk drives (HDD) (SATA3) with an option to choose an Optical Drive or 3rd HDD with the mSATA drive. Communications offer the Realtek RTL8411 on-board LAN, a 802.11 bgn Wireless LAN and Bluetooth v4.0 connection, while connectivity consists of a single standard USB 2.0 port, four superfast USB 3.0 ports with one powered port, the eSATA (USB 2.0 combo), RJ45/LAN and of course there is the Display Port 1.2 & HDMI 1.4a out.
No gaming machine would be complete without cool sound and so there is the Sound Blaster X-Fi MB2, with two 2W ONKYO speakers plus Subwoofer. It will measure up at 419 mm (W) x 286 mm (D) x 24 mm to 49.7 mm (H) and weighs in at a heavy 3.5 kilos, but that is with the 8 cell high capacity 89.21WH battery pack installed. Eurocom have made the P370EM Scorpius laptop so that the buyer can virtually customize it to suit their needs and requirements, it starts at $1,800 but you could easily add another $1,000 or more to the final price tag if you are not careful.
