There was time when there were new ultrabooks being launched almost every week, but that the production seems to have slowed down a little and now we are the point where the launch of a new ultrabook is good news. This latest addition to the ultrabook range is from the Japan based Dospara and they are calling it the Note GALLERIA U2442F! This laptop offers a neat fourteen inch screen, i7 Intel Core processors, Nvidia and Intel graphics cards, so it is all there and for around $1,250 that does not sound too expensive either. We know that this is ultrabook and therefore fits into the rules as laid down by Intel, but what else does it offer? There is a 14 inch screen that offers an LCD display with a 1600 x 900 of pixel resolutions.
It is going to be running on the latest Windows 8 64 bit operating system and will be powered by the Intel Core i7-3517U Ultra low voltage processor in dual core version with a 1.90 GHz to 3.00 GHz with turbo boost and an up to 4 MB cache. There is support from the Mobile Intel HM77 Express Chipset and video graphics come from the NVIDIA GeForce GT650M 2 GB and the Intel HD Graphics supported by with switching by the NVIDIA Optimus Technology. The internal memory is a nice sized 8 GB of DDR3 SO-DIMM and there is a light and slim 128 GB solid state drive (SSD) for storage purposes.
Networking is provided through the 10 BASE-T, 100 BASE-TX, 1000 BASE-T Wired LAN, Bluetooth 4.0 and the IEEE 802.11 b / g / n Wireless LAN. Other features include the two standard USB 2.0 ports, two faster USB 3.0 ports, D-Sub 15 & HDMI display ports, a built in HD web camera and the always handy Multi Card Reader. This laptop measures up at 233 mm (D) x 339 mm (W) x 21 mm (H) and it weighs in at 1.59 kilos with the Lithium-ion battery installed.
