Do You Need Laptop Light , Take Your Pick !

These days, a lot of laptops come with backlit screens. However, older laptops seldom came with backlit screens. Also, if you want a newer laptop with a backlit screen, you have to be prepared to spend a little more. Backlit screens eat batteries a bit faster, as well. In fact, the original Nintendo Game Boy had no backlit screen for exactly that reason. The designer had opted to go with no backlighting so as to provide gamers more game-time without having to buy fresh batteries.

If you’re looking up “Laptop Light” it’s probably safe to assume that your laptop is not, in fact, backlit. This may actually be a good call on your part! You get longer battery life, and you don’t have to recharge as often, if you use a backlight-less laptop.

Now then, you’re probably reading this to learn about what kind of laptop lights are out on the market right now. With that in mind, let’s not waste anymore words!

Most of these lights aren’t too expensive, and can be found for anywhere from fifteen to twenty five bucks.

This light was designed with the mobile professional in mind. Travelling on business, you’ll be no stranger to trying to use a laptop in an airplane or taxi with nothing but an overhead light. This light provides two levels of brightness, and plugs into your USB port, using very little power.

IOGear 8 LED Flex USB Light

The IOGear 8 LED Flex Light has, as you may have guessed, eight LED lights. You can light four or eight at a time, depending on how much extra light you need. The USB cable is eighteen inches, which should make it pretty easy to position your screen however you like.

HP Compaq USB Notebook Light

Has about the same features as the two lights listed above, but with the bonus of having a flexible cable. This means you don’t need to be constantly batting the cord out of the way as you work! And yes, it’s compatible with non-Compaq laptops.

Micro Innovations Light

The Micro Innovations Light features a flexible cable and is energy efficient. The official product description has it that it provides a “gentle” light, so as to let you work without bothering those nearby… but we all know what that means: The light isn’t very strong! Still, if you don’t need much more than a gentle light, or if you want to save on battery time, this is a decent little light.

Targus USB Notebook Light

This light is pretty nice! Providing “Xenon” light, using up very little energy, and costing as low as eleven bucks from a number of sellers. It features a swivel head and a notebook clip to snap right onto the laptop screen, and even comes with a cute little travel case.
