Dell release the Windows 8 powered XPS 12

This is a laptop and operating system combo that a lot of consumers have been waiting for, it’s the touch screen twelve inch convertible laptop from Dell, know now as the XPS 12! The XPS 12 has as use would expect a nice and neat 12.5 inch display featuring touch screen and it is housed in a frame that allows it to be turned around so that the laptop becomes a tablet computer and back in no time at all. Being a Dell there are plenty of choice to be made here, from the Intel i5 to i7 processor, to memory and storage choices, how this laptop is configured is totally up to the buyer and on their budget too.

The Dell XPS 12 comes with a 12.5 inch screen with a FHD with a 1080p Touch screen display offering a 1280 x 1024 pixel resolutions with a built in 1.3 mega pixel web camera. It will be running on the latest Microsoft Windows 8 64 bit operating system and powered by the 3rd Generation Intel Core i5-3317U processor with a 3M Cache up to 2.6 GHz or the i7-3517U processor with a 4M Cache up to 3.0 GHz. There is support for the Mobile Intel QS77 Express Chipset and the video graphics coming from the Intel HD 4000 graphics card. There is 4 GB of Dual Channel DDR3 available but can be expanded up to 8 GB if required and there is up to 256 GB solid state drive (SSD) for storage.

Networking is by the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 802.11 a/g/n with Intel Smart Connect Technology, Bluetooth 3.0 and it is also Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) 3.0 ready.
