You can email and surf with a phone when you’re out and about so what is this really offering? A cheap way to get viruses. What is left out of ‘Built in Extras’ is the integrated software Apple has (iLife) as opposed to the bloatware and other trial software that would probably have to be left off the Insipidon. So you’ll get the latest version of IE? This article doesn’t seem to think software has any value.

30 years of Mac and 2 worms (one in Word). Why waste your time with Windows?

Because Mac is a minority and $$$…and cuz surfing on a tiny phone window is tough. Assuming it even displays everything and alot of them dont.

Minority? That’s not an argument. There’s more Muslims than Christians so start praying to Mecca sinner.

Apple is the most profitable computer manufacturer. Macs run every type of software as well or better – it’s the same chip.

If Apple were on their way out – maybe you’d have to think about it. But they’re on their way in. And their laptops are consistently voted best by reputable sites and mags.

Windows users? Seems like a lot of people with their heads in the sand. Look at ROI not RRP.

Rob, Rob, Rob… Can’t ignore that Apple has been “on the way in” for about 40 years – prior to the PC’s existence. Their SD policies have been traditionally proprietary and costly. Haven’t seen that change. Their OS has been hit and miss – the Mac prototype, LISA, a huge miss, made up for in the Mac, albeit, but their history has been one of tenacious struggel; not one of impressive market penetration. The only reason you didn’t see them go the way of the Atari 520/1040, Commodore Amiga is that they got significant penetration within the universities. No, Apple is pretty good at being “on the way in” after all that time – pratice makes perfect! I respect the Apples out there, and teh user base, brave souls, but I’ll still hang with my PCs. Where Micro$oft fails me, Linux akes over. And, with Apple’s recent move to the Intel hardware, who knows? Maybe I’ll bend BSD linux to Apple’s will as they have…

MeHere, MeHere, MeHere? Patronising tone only works if you know what you’re talking about. Otherwise you just sound like a twit. The Apple has only been “on its way in” since the iPod – why don’t you at least look at some stats, its not not like they’re a secret. Everyone knows that but know one cares what you’ll do. Here’s a tip – the best use the best.

Well, as MCSE and Apple tehnician i must say that they are both systems with errors, both can make human go crazy, and we are so far away from HAL9000.So,this will be always struggel between merzedes and BMW,only the people that work in BIG computer environment know that there is no difference between MS and Apple,it`s a tool. For lovers of Mac i have just one thing to say,try to use it for something more sirious than mp3 and internet and you will be supprised how crapy can it get.And yes,MICROSOFT is much more ERP solution than system for games, multimedia etc.(Buy an Xbox or something).

1/ There isn’t any perfect system.

2/ If people can’t tell the difference between 2 systems they shouldn’t boast about their ignorance.

3/ As far as serious applications go: the lastest feature films, TV series and new music you enjoyed were more likely to be completed on an Apple than any other OS. I’m an artist so other systems are a joke to me.

So you are right about one thing – you need the right tool for the job.

Rob, you are right that Win XP is lousy, but Ubuntu Remix (linux) is great on the netbook.

IMO the only reason that Apple choose free bsd unix was they wouldn’t have been able to screw over the consumer as much with a GPL license. Like Microsoft, Apple is only interested in $$$.
