Cheap Antivirus Software for Mac Users

When you’re using a Mac, you get a few advantages. First of all, you get great quality when it comes to audio and visual stuff. Even their basement bargain deals have always been really impressive on that front.

I mean, for example, I sometimes do professional photoshopping on this five hundred dollar Mac mini, and it’s doing me just fine.

Of course, the downside to being a Mac owner is that we always seem to get all the good stuff way after the windows people have already had their fun with it.

This applies to nearly everything from apps to antivirus stuff.

So anyways, that’s what we’re here for today. Without a doubt, the best antivirus program for Mac has got to be Norton Antivirus.

Norton works on several levels. First of all, it’s simply a great scanner. It can find pretty much every virus on your Mac, and it gets regular updates at least once a day, ensuring that the database of known viruses is always up to date, keeping your computer in the clear.

Second, it’s easy to use. The user interface has been cut down, refined, polished, and reshaped into one of the most user friendly interfaces out there on any operating system.

Luckily, virus protection has never been a huge priority on Mac. Even today, with viruses and spyware and spam running rampant, the Mac OSX has always been pretty resilient when it comes to being resistant to viruses.

In fact, for a time, Apple actually openly discouraged their users from bothering with antivirus software, and in fact, there are many users who still consider it a waste of time.

However, it is better to err on the side of safety. And you can certainly accomplish that by simply downloading a decent antivirus program, just in case.

Most recently, Apple has finally admitted that their OSX system is not, in fact, bullet proof against viruses, adware, spyware, and so on. Extremely resistant to, certainly, but completely immune? Not at all. Nothing really is, and Apple was kind of lucky to have kept Mac OSX clean up until now.

On the bright side, now that mac users are starting to catch on to the importance of antivirus software, we should see a little more in the way of it becoming a competitive market in the next few years, with more and more companies jumping in and putting out great products for cheap, like Norton AntiVirus.
