CDC Software based in Atlanta, a wholly owned subsidiary of CDC Corporation (NASDAQ: CHINA), which includes CDC Games and China.com has agreed to acquire Surrey based WKD Solutions Ltd, a leading provider of supply chain event management and business activity monitoring (BAM) solutions, although the financial details of the deal have not been revealed.
CDC Software, a leading provider of enterprise software applications and services, are resuming their merger and acquisition for growth strategy after taking a short break to concentrate on integrating their prior acquisitions.
Last year they successfully added to their growing list of company acquisitions and mergers, Dynamic Business Consultants (DBC), an award winning software systems integrator based in Australia, as well as the remaining 49% share that they did not already own of Industri-Matematik International, a subsidiary of the Symphony Technology Group.
Commenting on the latest acquisition, the Chief Executive of CDC Software, Peter Yip said “We are excited to be pursuing this acquisition since we took a break to concentrate on integrating our prior acquisitions and rightsizing our platform. We believe now is the time to return to our focus, acquire and grow strategy through mergers and acquisitions that help expand the breadth of our enterprise applications and fill technology opportunities in our product roadmap”.
Yipp also adds “this planned acquisition makes good business sense given the significant success we have already enjoyed under our OEM relationship with WKD Solutions and its strategic fit in our product strategy.”
WKD Solutions market their products under the Categoric Software brand, which is already used in CDC Software’s product line under an OEM agreement.
Kevin Noakes, CEO of WKD Solutions Ltd said their company were one of the first to develop a proactive business management solution that incorporated real time alert technology and adds that WKD is “excited with the prospect of bringing this innovative technology and our extensive expertise to one of the leading supply chain providers in the industry,”
The acquisition is subject to standard closing conditions but if it goes ahead then CDC Software will be able to integrate real time alerting, process automation, corrective action tracking and key performance indicator (KPI) dashboards into their supply chain solutions which will help businesses to quickly identify and deal with problem areas throughout their supply chain and enable them to exploit new business opportunities.
