RHUB remote access is one product I know that ensures guaranteed connection even through lock down computers and restrictive firewall settings. As far as security is concerned, it provides the greatest security of your own firewall. In addition to that it has IP address-based access control. So, you don’t even need a VPN. Remote control is instant and faster, allowing you to connect to your PC from anywhere, anytime, without any hassles.

I would have liked to see Proxy Networks' remote desktop software make this list. They make a great product that I think needs to be considered alongside some of the better known names. Maybe you will give them a look in your next round-up?

Hi- We've used TeamViewer & it worked very well, was easy to set up, etc. But beware- it's free only for non-commercial use. I set up as commercial use & only received a free 7- or 14-day (can't remember) trial period. Now I have to pay (or find another provder) :)

I recently learned about and tried TeamViewer at http://www.teamviewer.com - amazing features (even VoIP audio & video now) and FREE for non-commercial use. Company based in Germany but has customers all over.

Nice article. Another remote desktop tool to consider is Yuuguu http://bit.ly/82UiQY

Heres's some info about it:

Yuuguu remote support works across all platforms (Windows PC, Mac OS and Linux) and automatically deals with firewalls and proxies. In most cases Yuuguu remote support will simply work out of the box. If you want to control someone else's keyboard and mouse to provide remote support, then simply add them to your contacts list in your Yuuguu client. With just one click they can show you what they are looking at on their computer screen in real time, and you can share control of their keyboard and mouse to provide remote support.

Disclosure - I work for Yuuguu.
