The launch of NVIDIA ION graphics processors later this year is being welcomed wholeheartedly by industry analysts, game developers and software companies including the likes of In Stat, an analyst firm specialising in mobile internet and digital entertainment markets, Microsoft, Google, Electronic Arts and Adobe.

NVIDIA ION graphics processors will power a new generation of computers which are smaller and more energy efficient. They will significantly improve the visuals on small PCs and speed up graphics performance by up to ten times the speed of similar systems without the ION graphics processors according to NVIDIA.

You’ve managed to get yourself a new Netbook or Laptop at a fantastic price because you have committed yourself to paying so much a month for a 12 month or 24 month contract for the wireless internet that comes with your new machine. Seems like a great idea doesn’t it?

Many wireless carriers both in the USA and in Europe subsidise computers in this way in order to get the business. Basically you get your laptop and they get the monthly payments for broadband.

If you’re using a PC that runs on the Windows operating system, you’re in luck. In many ways, Windows is kind of considered the “default” operating system, and it gets all the good stuff first.

If you’re running on a Mac… well, I feel for you. My Mac Mini, while it may be a great little unit for video and some games (since I added more RAM and voiced my warranty, that is), and it only cost me a scant five hundred bucks, but yeesh, I just cannot find much in the way of compatible software.
