Asus update the Eee PC 1215B
It does not appear to have been officially announced anywhere yet, but the Taiwan based computer maker Asus will be updating the popular Eee PC 1215B notebook with a 1.65 GHz AMD E-450 processor. This addition should make the twelve inch laptop much faster and capable of delivering much improved graphics.
Currently the model comes with a choice of either a 1.6 GHz AMD E-350 processor or the lower powered AMD C-30 or C-50 processors. so the addition of the dual core processor along with the Radeon high definition 6320 graphics card will mean a much improved and faster laptop, capable of full HD playback at it will support 1080p HD video and DirectX 11 graphics.
The rest of the laptop will more or less remain the same as before with the Eee PC 1215B offering a 12.1 inch LED Back light WXGA Screen with 1366 x 768 of pixel resolution and a built in 0.3 Mega Pixel web Camera.
Memory comes as a choice of 2 GB, 3 GB and 4 GB of DDR3, 2 x SO-DIMM, while storage offers a 2.5 inch SATA hard disc drive at either 250 GB, 320 GB or 500 GB. When it comes to networking Asus have gone with the usual WLAN 802.11 b/g/n @ 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and a Bluetooth V3.0 +HS is an Optional extra.
The Eee PC 1215B uses a six Cell 56Wh Li ion Battery, which is supposed to be good for up to eight hours of use, according to Asus. The dimensions are296 mm x 203 mm x 38 mm (W x D x H) and it Weighs in at 1.45 Kgs with the six cell battery installed.
As there has been no official announcement this also means that there has not been an official price tag released either, yet!
