We’ve been waiting on it and now it is finally here, the beautifully stylish Asus Eee PC 1008 HA ‘Seashell’ and I think you’ll find this is a Netbook that is definitely worth a closer look.
First of all the Eee PC 1008 HA Seashell is a stunner in the looks department so you won’t mind being seen with it and as it is super thin and weighs a mere 1.1 kg it is easy to carry around with you wherever you go, which after all is the whole point with Netbooks.

Now although looks and weight are important points to consider when deciding which Netbook to buy they are not the only things we have to take into account. The good news is that looks and weight are not the only things that this Netbook has going for it, not by a long shot.
The processor is at the upper end of the scale as it comes with an Intel Atom N280 processor, it also comes with 1GB DDR2 RAM, and hybrid storage of 160 GB SATA HDD and 10 GB Eee Storage and you also get GMA graphics. No, this is no standard run of the mill Netbook.
It has a standard Netbook size 10 inch LED backlit display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels but you also get Colour Shine technology to enhance the viewing experience. The keyboard is a 92% scaled keyboard so not too small to use and you get a multi touch touchpad.
For connectivity options you have Wi-Fi 801.11 b/g/n at 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth, 3.75G HSPA and WiMAX.
You will also find 2 USB 2.0 ports, a mini VGA connector, a 1.3 megapixel camera, stereo speakers, LAN and audio jack, and you also get the new Eee Docking application which basically offers you instant and easy access to a whole suite of software.
The impressive pearlescent casing with its tapered edges looks really cool and it comes in a whole range of colours to suit different personalities and tastes so you can choose from white, black, blue, pink and red.
There’s really not much to complain about here, as far as Netbooks go it has just about got it all. If this Netbook appeals to you, and I’m sure many will be after it, it will be available in the UK from May 15th for £379.
